Great Spots to Watch 4th of July Fireworks in Chicago

Summer is officially here, and what better way to get the party started than by celebrating with an incredible fireworks show? The Navy Pier show is free and can be seen from all over the city, so here are the best spots to enjoy it.

Okay, so technically you can catch a fireworks show at Navy Pier all summer long (every Wednesday and Saturday night through Labor Day), but their 4th of July show is really special. The pier itself is a prime spot to watch the show, though it gets quite crowded. If this is where you decide to camp out, get here early and grab a spot on the east end of the pier for the best views.

Want to beat the crowds? Head to Lane Beach Park to watch. It’s a little bit further out of the way, but you and your crew will have plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the show.

If you don’t mind spending some cash, take a trip to the top of 360 Chicago (aka the John Hancock Observatory). Since the fireworks show starts at 9:30, we recommend grabbing an express ticket and heading up around 9:00. The view from here is amazing on any day or night, but the fireworks will make it even more special.
