Chicago has the best comedy scene in the country, with alumni like Amy Poehler and Mike Meyers to prove it. What this means for you is that you can experience some of the best comedians and the most promising up-and-comers in the country in a city where comedic talent flows freely, from the improv grind to the standup scene.

Check out The Second City, ComedySportz, Laugh Factory, The Annoyance, IO, and many more. That’s not even mentioning all the free open mic shows, where you’d be shocked at how talented these aspiring comedians are.

Chicago is the blues capital, and you can check out this genre every night at Kingston Mines, B.L.U.E.S., and Buddy Guy’s Legends. If you’re in the mood to break it down, Green Mill is an awesome dance club. Schubas, Double Door, and The Empty Bottle are great for cheap but incredible shows by local acts.

Sure, your any city might have some breweries and distilleries, but it doesn’t have Chicago’s breweries and distilleries. As for the breweries, Chicago is home to Revolution, Goose Island, Half Acre, Atlas, DryHop, Lake Effect, and more. The distilleries are a real treat, with Chicago Distilling Company, KOVAL, Rhine Hall, CH Distillery, Few Distillery, and North Shore. You’ll get plenty of samples at all of these spots and learn a few fun facts to impress your friends.
