MostBest Chicago | Bagels

It could take you hours to decide which bagel shop is the best. Feeling overwhelmed? MostBest knows the Top 3.

There’s nothing like a bagel when it’s done right. But when it’s bad, it’s really bad. Fortunately there are a few places in Chicago that will make you feel like you’re taking a bite of one in the Big Apple.

The NYC Bagel Deli (NYCBD) provides Chicago with the same masterful bagels you thought you’d only find in New York. The bagels are thickly rolled to be dense and chewy, and the house-made cream cheeses top off the experience wonderfully.

On a warm day, enjoy the outdoor seating—but no matter the season, the NYC Bagel Deli will surpass expectations.

Kaufman’s is the kind of place we dream of when looking for a great Jewish deli. Walk into this big, bright Skokie landmark, and you get hit square in the nose with the heavenly smell of freshly baked bagels.

Check out live bluegrass on Sundays (Banjos and Bagels), but as for every other day of the week, get your bagel, coffee, and fresh fruit to start your day on exactly the right foot.

We have to say, there’s a lot more to this trendy little corner eatery than just bagels, but for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast or brunch, Reno’s bagels and creative spreads are the best in town. They’re flavored smears and house-made jams are a perfect blend of rich and sweet flavor, and perfectly complement a thick, chewy bagel.

Stay for a while and do some reading with a hot cup of coffee, and (of course) a bagel. It’ll feel like a second home before too long.
