Three Best Dive Bars in Bucktown

Wicker Park is basically Wrigleyville on the weekend, and Logan Square is close on its heels. Bucktown is a little slice in the middle, home to some of our favorite spots to grab a quick drink on the cheap in a classic Chicago dive environment. Beat the crowds and head to these top spots.

To call this a Bucktown hotspot would be an understatement. Hailed for their cheap drinks, exceptionally friendly staff, and awesome nightly events and specials, they have it all. The environment is super laid back and friendly, and when you can get a pint of beer for less than two bucks, we’re talking legend status.

A half goat taxidermy greets you at the door, then the friendly staff and regulars. Stop by this local staple to enjoy a great selection of beer and cocktails written on chalkboards and painted on the mirror behind the bar. There are tons of affordable options and they also boast awesome nightly events, including live music and DJs.

Ed and Jean’s

This is one of this writer’s regular bars, a favorite of the Bucktown neighborhood he makes the trip to regularly. When the Blackhawks were in the Stanley Cup, Ed and Jeans’s seemed to be the only place that wasn’t slammed with crushing crowds. Play some pool, throw darts, and enjoy the awesomely varied selection of next-to-nothing brews for an awesome night tucked away from the ridiculous crowds of the surrounding areas.
