If you want to eat like a real Chicagoan, these places are an absolute must.

Step 1: Head to the Vienna Beef Factory store and pick up a box of Coach Ditka’s 1/3 pound, 8-inch sausages with sesame buns and toppings of your choosing.

Step 2: Head to Al’s Beef and grab an Italian Beef with hot peppers double dipped and a side of nacho cheese (for dipping).

Step 3: Head to any liquor store and pick up two six-packs of Old Style 16ozers.

Step 4: While grilling two of the sausages, eat the Italian Beef and drink one of the two six-packs.

Step 5: With sausages in tow and another six-pack to drink, queue up the Bears vs. Patriots Super Bowl XX game, which is streaming on YouTube in its entirety.

Step 1: Order or pick up a large deep-dish pizza from Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s, Gino’s East, Pequod’s, or Art of Pizza. Make sure it’s just for you. If someone else wants one, they can get their own.

Step 2: Pick up a 12 pack of any Goose Island variety (we like the IPA).

Step 3: Head home and eat and drink. For most people, you’ll have enough leftovers for a Juicy Goosey round two!

Step 1: Go to a dive bar in Wicker Park, Bucktown, or Logan Square.

Step 2: Drink there all night, taking shots of Jeppson’s Malört. No need for a chaser, but if the taste of unrefined crude oil mixed with Jagermeister with a little splash of near-dry paint makes you feel like you need one, we recommend some PBR.

Step 3: Get a six to 12 dollar bag of Tamales from The Tamale Guy. Follow him via his Twitter tracker, or just repeat steps 1 and 2 night after night until he stops by.
