Ottobar has been a Baltimore institution since 1997, hosting great musical acts in an intimate space that’s just grungy enough to make you feel like you’re getting in on something no one else knows about. They host a variety of artists, but indie rock is definitely their specialty. Upstairs, you can grab a drink and shoot some pool, and you’ll often find a DJ spinning some of the hottest beats.

The 8×10, an intimate little music room that features awesome acts nightly, has become a favorite among fans who enjoy smaller listening spaces with a great view of the stage no matter where they’re standing. With a state-of-the-art audio system, you’ll be submerged into the sound of both huge acts, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, and Billy Joel, as well as smaller, up-and-coming local talent.

Ram’s Head Live! is a somewhat fresh addition to Baltimore’s list of live music venues, booking a diverse selection of R&B, pop, metal, and electronic music performers and DJs. The venue itself is quite large, but since it’s standing room only, you still get the intimate feeling that comes with being close to other fans and the performers themselves. There is even an upper level that allows for concert attendees to view the stage from above the crowd.
