Chicago’s Best Playgrounds

Did you know Chicago was named one of the most playful cities? While it’s always easy to take the kids to the playground across the street, you can treat them to a special day out at these over-the-top kid havens.

Even adults will love this park, an ode to the Wizard of Oz. With a maze-like castle complete with bridges, windows, and climbing areas, and rocking animals and a wooden train for munchkins, this place has something for all ages. There are even statues of the movie characters!

What we love most about this playground is that it has many areas that are accessible for those with disabilities. It has a fun Olympic theme (it’s named for a four-time Olympic gold medalist) and has competition stations, a track pathway, and a spray pool. The neighboring field house is home to a gym, fitness center, and multi-purpose rooms.

You’ll have a lovely view of Lake Michigan as the kids run wild in this 8,000 square foot park. With all new play equipment shaped like a pirate ship, soft rubber surfaces, gorgeous landscaping, and beautiful mosaic benches, both you and the little ones will not want to leave.
