This spot is not only a salon, but a studio as well. You’ll feel like you’re backstage at a play and you’re a star of the show. As your hairdresser chops away, you’ll also watch wigs being made and makeup being flawlessly applied for all sorts of occasions from photo shoots to weddings.

You can find Penny Lane at 2658 N Sawyer Ave.

Pete’s Barber Shop

When your man refuses to get his mop cleaned up, this place will persuade him. With an old-school two chair setup, an Xbox, comic books, and Revolution beer, he’ll want to come as often as possible.

You can find Pete’s at 2873 N Elston Ave.

Family owned since 1968, Joe’s is a Logan Square staple. On top of $15 cuts, it’s a hangout of sorts, with old movies playing, great conversation abound, and if you’re lucky, some burgers off the grill out front. You’ll love the vintage products, but remember that Joe’s is cash-only.

You can find Joe’s at 2641 W Fullerton Ave.
