Any festivals involving drinking get rowdy in Chicago, and Oktoberfest is no exception. Though this German celebration has already begun, it’s not too late to join in on the fun! Get your lederhosen ready!
If you can’t get to the Hofbrauhaus in Munich, this is the closest you’ll get to the true German spirit. The Oktoberfestbier is brewed onsite, there’s a dirndl fashion show, a 40-piece band plays all of the traditional songs, and you can participate in a stein-holding contest.
