September and October are the best crab-catchin’ months of the year in Chesapeake Bay. This is when you’ll get to sample some of the biggest, meatiest crabs!
Feeling fancy? Ditch the bib and head to Costa’s Inn, which is a bit classier than your average crab shack and makes a killer homemade Old Bay seasoning. They have a drink menu for the grownups, as well as karaoke and live music on weekends.
Gaffney’s Back Fin
If you’d rather take your crabs on the go, nothing beats Gaffney’s Back Fin. This family-owned joint catches all their own crustaceans, so you can be sure that you’re getting the freshest crabs around. This place is a true gem.
Captain James’ Seafood Palace
This Baltimore institution is shaped like a boat and is docked on the Canton waterfront. The crabs are fresh from the Harbor and steamed on-site, so you know you’re getting only the best of the best. There’s even all-night carryout if you’re up late and on the go!
