This spot is an artistic haven—a bar, music venue, art gallery, and record label all rolled into one. It serves up creative craft cocktails and hosts all different genres of music acts, from jazz to punk. There’s no cover and there are plenty of special events, like Movieoke and film screenings.

You can find The Whistler at 2421 N Milwaukee Ave.

This historic ballroom is all about awesome acoustics and a full bar. There are two levels and it’s all general admission so you can mix, mingle, and wander around. It’s hidden next to Lula’s Cafe, and while it’s not fancy, it’s a fun, big space (800 capacity) to dance and enjoy a show.

You can find Logan Square Auditorium at 2539 N Kedzie Blvd.

The swanky bar with its hip back-room music space has become a hotspot. You’ll find microbrews, specialty cocktails and seasonal drafts among $2 cans of PBR, and local DJ’s are spinning when there’s no one playing. Have a seat on the old church pews and keep an ear out for album releases.

You can find The Burlington at 3425 W Fullerton Ave.
